Interview: Anneli Jedenmalm on leading innovation in gas-to-gas membranes

With over 20 years of experience as an R&D Project Manager and Polymer Scientist, Anneli brings a strong background in developing innovative and sustainable material solutions across industries like medical technology, energy, and hydrogen. Her expertise spans from hands-on lab work to industrial-scale implementation, skills that are now being channeled into one of Cellfion’s key application areas.
Here, she shares her reflections on her new role, why she chose Cellfion, and what she sees ahead.
Can you tell us about your role at Cellfion and what your day-to-day work involves?
“As Program Leader for gas-to-gas membranes, I lead the membrane development towards commercialization,” says Anneli. “My days are dynamic—ranging from technical problem-solving to project coordination.”
What initially attracted you to Cellfion as a workplace?
“The opportunity to apply my expertise in polymers and project leadership to drive sustainable innovation,” she explains. “I was inspired by the leadership’s passion and vision for scale-up and saw a potential for growth – both for the company and myself.”
What do you find most exciting or rewarding about working at Cellfion?
“Being part of a team that’s shaping a cleaner, safer future through cutting-edge material solutions,” Anneli shares. “That’s something I find both exciting and meaningful.”
In your view, how important are Cellfion’s products for the industries we serve, and why?
“With PFAS regulations tightening, industries urgently need alternatives that meet regulatory requirements,” she notes. “Cellfion offers a timely and vital solution with its innovative, PFAS-free materials.”
