The tests are designed to simulate the demands of industrial fuel cell systems and will provide important validation and performance data for Cellfion’s on-going customer projects. The common objective with the customers is that Cellfion’s membranes will industrially replace PFAS-based polymer membranes in the humidifier system programs already from 2027 and forward, thus meeting the upcoming market demands for PFAS-free systems. For this purpose, Cellfion has also filed a patent application for its membrane technology targeted towards e.g. fuel cell humidifiers. This patent family strengthens Cellfion's intellectual property portfolio, reinforcing its position in the development of advanced cellulose-containing materials for energy applications. Cellfion continues to focus on delivering high-performance, adaptable membrane solutions for the electrochemical energy sector. The company's commitment to innovation is reflected in its ongoing efforts to offer PFAS-free membranes that meet both performance and regulatory requirements.
